Huawei Mate X

A phone with FullView that offers 6.6 and 6.38-inch screens on both sides.

The new Huawei Mate X flagship can turn into an 8-inch Android tablet. Mate X now has 5G with the Kirin 990 chipset, surpassing any expectation. Not only the features will be unexpected, but also the price set for them. The amounts to 2,299 euros, with 512 GB of internal memory and 8 GB of RAM, this corresponds to about 2,600 euros.

Design and screen

A button on the back of the smartphone allows you to turn your phone into a tablet. The front of the Huawei Mate X has a 6.6-inch screen, which is for use as a normal smartphone. By turning the Mate X, you will be able to see the 6.4-inch screen, Mate X allows you to use both sides separately. This smaller display can be activated if you want to spare the battery.

So that they can spare their battery, so the respective screens of the Mate X can use separately, they are an OLED display available. This can namely activate the respective pixels so that the unused pixels remain black.

On the smaller screen is a vertical bar by placing the brain of the operation. In this placement are the on / off switch, the fingerprint scanner sensor and at the base is the USB-C port for charging the Mate X. You’ll have to imagine holding a tablet in your hand and then fold this from the middle. That’s downright scary, but that’s exactly what they’ll have to do. Therefore, the company has run tests to test the steadiness of the Huawei Mate X display. The results are extremely good, because it is said to have passed 100,000 times.

Consideration is also the material of the display. The Huawei Mate X has a flexible plastic display, this is softer and could easily be scratched. Huawei made a statement that it would be re-tested before release and, if necessary, improvements made to the Mate X as well.

THE SCREEN IS CLEARLY APPLICABLE SINCE IT IS A MULTITASKING TALENT.

Camera features

Unfortunately, not much is known about the cameras of the Mate X. First and foremost, there is no front camera on the Mate X, instead only a special triple camera on the back. With the Mate X, they will be photographed by others without any doubt as to how it will look like, because they will be able to see themselves there as well. Sounds a little complicated but it is not, the Mate X allows through the second screen a preview, which means that both persons, the photographing and the photographed simultaneously on the respective screens, the picture can be seen. Among the information that was not disclosed, the pixel sizes of the cameras include, so we will not be able to talk about the details.

Why these details have not yet been released is unknown, but the reason could be a lot like the Mate X does not have a very great camera or simply because the company did not want to jump to conclusions about it. We’ll have to wait and see. However, we do know that Huawei has used the latest camera technology of the Huawei P30 in its latest flagship.

Battery and technical features

The battery of the Mate X is known to have two batteries. Together, both batteries yield 4,500 mAh. The huge battery is understandable, given that the Mate X is not just a smartphone, but at the same time a tablet. To charge this huge battery, Huawei has created a completely new charging function.

The 55W SuperCharge technology, this charger allows the Mate X to be charged from 0% to 85% in just 30 minutes. The Mate X is powered by a Kirin 980 processor and a Balong 5000 5G modem. With such a performance package you will be able to imagine that the Mate X is super fast. As an example, downloading a 1 GB movie takes only three seconds.

However, we surprisingly found that the Huawei Mate X runs on the Kirin 990 processor. This may be due to the effect of the unit’s constant delays. It is about at least 6 months, which is not enough. With the Mate X they get 512 GB of memory and as if that would not be enough, plus support for expandable memory via Nano Memory to create 256 GB more storage space.

The functions of the Mate X

We know that Mate X is running a customized version of Android. There’s no need to spend time converting tablets to smartphones because the user interface can be updated to align in milliseconds. When we tested new part, everything went smoothly, so really fast accordingly.

Huawei uses EMUI, which is the custom interface of Huawei, which is especially installed on Android. With the Mate X, it looks like the surface will be at the center of the experience. Of course, the Mate X also has completely new functions. The operating system of the Mate X has also been visibly more focused on the tablet. Which is good, of course.
