Competition for the Adobe Flash Player: The “Microsoft Silverlight 2016” You can display multimedia content on the Web.
With Silverlight, Microsoft Silverlight 2016 plans to make the Flash Player from Adobe competition and allow interacting multimedia content (games, slideshows & Video Player) directly in the browser.
1. Check the system requirements
Make sure you use a Windows “Silverlight”-compatible operating system and browser and that you uninstall any previous version of Silverlight.
2. “Download Silverlight 2016”
For users of Windows Internet Explorer:
The browser will prompt you to run or save the installation file (Silverlight.exe). Click Run to start the download. When the download is complete, the browser prompts you again to launch the installer. Click Run to start the installation. Note that you must have sufficient administrative privileges to install Silverlight.
For Mozilla Firefox users:
Silverlight.exe save on your hard drive. Once the download is complete, click Open. The installation starts.
3. Install “Silverlight 2016”
If you use Windows Vista operating system, you will be asked to provide security clearances. To continue, you must approve.
Click “Install Now” after reviewing the license agreement and privacy statement.
If you had an earlier version of Silverlight installed, or use Mozilla Firefox, you will need to restart your browser.
You can now use Silverlight.
